Howard Revell

Inducted 2023

A genuine trailblazer of Speedcar racing over four decades, Howard Revell carved a reputation for being a crowd favourite as well as a racer’s racer, always helping his competitors in the workshop and at the venue, sometimes to the detriment of his own results.

Howard’s resume is extensive and is highlighted by multiple100 lap Speedcar Marathon wins from 1966 to 1980, the 1969 40 Lap World Speedcar Classic, two Victorian titles and an ACT title, and countless memorials and feature wins that produced multiple club and track championships.

Renown as “The Hotshoe,” Howard also toured the USA racing in USAC Midget competition, and in 1978 claimed the quickest qualifying time of the season in Delta Colorado.

Howard’s love of the sport also stretched into administration as a former President of the ACT Speedcar Club and Co-Promoter at Canberra Speedway, and now he joins his dad Ray Revell in the Hall of Fame as the third father and son duo to be inducted behind Don and Ron Mackay and Phil and Jason Crump.
