The name Dennis Newlyn has graced the pages of countless publications and the airwaves of a myriad of radio and TV stations across the globe since 1966.

Over his 60 years as a motorsports journalist, Dennis has covered everything from small town club events to the Indy 500, however, dirt track speedway was and has remained his first love, maintaining consistent contributions to major outlets such as Sydney’s Daily Telegraph, the 7 and 9 television networks and radio 2GB and 2UE as well as his own show on 2SM in the late 2000’s.

As a write and publisher for Speedway Racing News from 1972 to 2015, Dennis became established as the walking encyclopedia of speedway, and continued to promote the sport on multiple platforms.

The man behind the famed “National Speedway Illustrated” and “Speedway Classics” publications, Dennis also produced special one-off journals, some of which have become prized collectors’ items, including the critically acclaimed “Tattersall the Legend.”

Throughout the twists and turns of the speedway industry since the golden era of the 60’s, Dennis Newlyn has been there every step of the way, through triumph and tragedy, the famous and the infamous competitors, to venues closing and opening..

Today he continues his role at 74 as the media manager for Eastern Creek and Lismore Speedways, finding every opportunity to expose the sport of Speedway to the masses.
