Allan Blake

Inducted 2025

A pioneer of West Australian Sedan racing by founding the Australian Saloon Car Federation in the state, Allan Blake became WA's first ever National Champion claiming the 1976/77 Australian Title in Tasmania while sealing the state title in the same season along with the Promoters association Award and Bunbury Sports Star of the Year.

Allan would win at least twenty-three features at Claremont Speedway along with a long list of wins interstate, however Allan’s administrative drive for the sport was as strong as his racing drive, serving as Manager of Bunbury Speedway and Darwin Speedways, the CEO of Late Models Western Australia in addition to other committee positions.

His legacy is not only limited to what he achieved on track and in the board room, but is demonstrated in the success of his son Brad, who has now claimed five national Late Model Titles and 13 state titles across 4 separate decades, 10 in his home state and three across Queensland, Victoria and NSW, all with Allan on the wrenches, faithfully preparing a car for his son to become established as one of sedan racing’s all-time greats.

Allan’s ventures from WA to the eastern states was revolutionary in a time where West Australian’s rarely travelled east for racing, and through gritty determination and innovation, Allan brought everything he learned from his success in the east back to the west for the benefit of the entire speedway community.
